Theatres
We have modern theatres, anaesthetic equipment and monitoring facilities. Most small animal surgery is carried out at the Blackwall surgery and routine procedures (neutering, suturing etc.) can also be carried out at our Ripponden branch. Patients are generally admitted from 8am and our reception and nursing staff will ensure you have all the information you need for the day of your appointment. Equine surgery is carried out at our equine clinic, again utilising modern theatre, anaesthetic and monitoring equipment.
Partner, Sally Strachan, holds an additional qualification in Veterinary Anaesthesia.
Prior to admitting your pet/horse for surgery it will be necessary for you to complete a consent form. All anaesthesia and surgical procedures carry an element of risk. However we use the most up to date anaesthetics and offer pre-anaesthetic blood testing, to assess your pet’s health prior to surgery.
After surgery an appointment will be made for you to collect your pet. A vet or experienced member of our nursing team will discharge your pet back to you and they will give you all the information you will need to aid your pet’s speedy recovery.
