I graduated from Edinburgh University in 1991. My work interests are horse dentistry, alpacas and llamas, and cattle medicine and surgery. Outside of work I enjoy mountain biking, skiing and gardening.

Sally Strachan, BVSc, CertVA, MRCVS - Partner

I qualified from Liverpool University in 1989. After working in Staffordshire for 2 years I returned home to Halifax. I obtained my Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia in 1993 and continue to have a keen interest in anaesthesia, being heavily involved with equine anaesthesia at the Shelf Equine Clinic. My other particular interests are equine medicine stud medicine and ophthalmology. I regularly attend courses on continuing professional development, recently including equine dentistry and cattle herd health planning. When not at work I try to find time to ride my own horses and entertain my young daughter.

 

 

 

 

 

The Hird and Partners Team

We have a dedicated team of twelve veterinary surgeons, who are complimented by an extensive support team of nurses, receptionists and administrative staff.

Our veterinary surgeons are divided into Large Animal and Small Animal fields. This means that our clients can be assured that the vet attending to their animal is dedicated to treating that species.

Our dedicated and trained nursing staff are here to care for our in patients and we offer free nurse out patient clinics to clients with pets, providing guidance and advice and special offers.

Our friendly, caring team of receptionists are ready to welcome clients and their animals and deal with any enquiries.
