Mary King, BVSc, MRCVS

Originally from Huddersfield, I graduated from Liverpool and spent time working in Lancashire before moving back to Yorkshire. I’m a mixed practitioner with a particular interest in medicine and anaesthesia. I spend a lot of my spare time in The Lakes, where my boyfriend works as a farm vet. I enjoy the outdoors (in nice weather!) and love walking and skiing when I get the chance.

Michael Lightwood, BVSc, MRCVS

I graduated from the University of Bristol and joined Hird and Partners to experience all fields of veterinary medicine. I am particularly interested in cattle fertility and lameness and also small ruminant (sheep, goats, alpacas) medicine. I was born locally in Rochdale, and in my spare time I enjoy walking and swimming.

We have a dedicated team of twelve veterinary surgeons, who are complimented by an extensive support team of nurses, receptionists and administrative staff.

Our veterinary surgeons are divided into Large Animal and Small Animal fields. This means that our clients can be assured that the vet attending to their animal is dedicated to treating that species.

Our dedicated and trained nursing staff are here to care for our in patients and we offer free nurse out patient clinics to clients with pets, providing guidance and advice and special offers.

Our friendly, caring team of receptionists are ready to welcome clients and their animals and deal with any enquiries.
